Building Your Strategic Alliances

Relationships are built on the heart of what we stand for and do to network with others. Connecting with people, businesses and communities strategically turns into relationships in the healthcare industry. Healthcare is a very busy profession and it leaves very little time for networking outside of the workplace, time is spent mainly on patient care. When building your strategic alliances, you have to know how to effectively network within your industry and sector. Effective professional networking in healthcare, employs a natural organizational network feature which is based on the foundation of effective communication. A network can be produced collaboratively positioned in healthcare by; brokers, social capital, trust, density etc.                                                                                                         

        Communicating information requires productive interaction socially and professionally when networking. However, networking with other medical professionals can assist in providing new colleagues, research partners or determine career goals for lifelong success. Networking is used within the same industry for improving patient care, factors for continuing success is by understanding your network’s attributes, or to attend various functions to make improvements that are necessary for medical professionals and or their facilities. However, the time that maybe spent on networks to improve patient care is no guarantee. Medical providers benefit from networking with other professionals, especially with other healthcare providers at conferences which are the best places to network.          

        Essentially, there are many medical professionals, physicians, suppliers and representatives from many hospital and clinical facilities that attend healthcare or business conferences. Not only conferences, but workshops and social media are great ways to network, it can aid in advancing in your career field and connect with other professionals with similar backgrounds and focuses.  There are many networking sites that are generic.  Linkedin, however is a specific networking site which is developed for healthcare professionals where co-workers are rich in information, especially when they are from various backgrounds. There is no networking time that is assigned to specifically network, it will happen naturally wherever and whenever. Networking matters on how the relationship is developed and treated.
