The logo 's primary function is to give a visual identity to the company. If the logo is chosen correctly it will be recognized automatically and customers will be able to communicate with the company and industry with the icon.

Think of the following conditions for designing the logo. Your logo should be:
– Recognizable
– Simple
– Versatile
– Iconic
– Relevant
– Original
If you want to stop something immediately going to be cliché or generic. Forget something that includes a circle, a light-bulb, or a tick – it was done to death.
Basic is better because you need something that people can replicate to come up with (remember what we said on their homework diaries about children drawing Nike ticks?). It also makes the design more flexible, so that it can be seen in more ways.
Think about it this way: You see the logo not just on the website or on your own goods. Occasionally, on someone else's website, it will need to be on a banner. This might be on the shelf too. It will be a brighter shade in this situation, or even black and white. A 'silhouette' with the added logo.
So ask yourself: Will the logo look just as good if you use it as a silhouette? Smaller lots? In Black and White?
Finally, make sure that your logo represents what you want your brand to be saying. That means not only communicating the market, the industry, and the kinds of goods and services that you are attempting to offer, but also declaring purpose and emotion. This is why you need to display your mission statement before your logo.
