In our final edition for the year we delve into the Top 150 Contractors & Housebuilders - looking at all the data and analysing the state of the markets. (You can read all about it below). We also published two opposing views in the high-profile debate around M&S's Marble Arch store, explored whether investment in energy security can support the UK's net zero goals, spoke to Glencar's founders about how the warehouse market has developed, and homed in on Bankside Yards and whether it presents a new net zero solution for London.
Top 150 Contractors & Housebuilders
We end this roller-coaster of a year on a high with a positive set of results coming from our?top 150 contractors and housebuilders league tables. The headline figure is that total turnover for the firms in the rankings increased by an average 18%, and much of the growth appears to have been driven by the housebuilders. Our analysis shows that the UK’s 50 biggest housebuilders in the tables turned over £38.6bn, an increase from £31.8bn the previous year. What is more, they created £5.6bn of operating profit at an 11.7% margin – up from 7.8%. You can explore all the coverage below.
