Thanksgiving is more than a holiday — it’s a time for reflection, gratitude, and connection. For countless families and communities, one cherished tradition has come to embody the spirit of the season: the Turkey Trot.?
A Turkey Trot isn’t just a fun run; it’s a celebration of health, wellness, and togetherness. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or simply strolling to enjoy the crisp autumn air, these events bring families, neighbors, and friends together in meaningful ways. They foster bonds, promote well-being, and create lasting memories — all while highlighting the power of community.?
In the Inland Empire, the San Bernardino Turkey Trot has become a cornerstone of Thanksgiving celebrations. Co-founded by Damon and Felicia Alexander, this event draws more than 500 participants annually and showcases what it means to come together for a shared purpose.?
At Dedeaux Properties, we believe traditions like this have the power to create meaningful, lasting impact.?
Strengthening Communities Through Tradition?
For us, being a successful business means being an integral part of the communities we serve. It’s about showing up, rolling up our sleeves, and contributing in ways that matter. Since 2021, we’ve proudly partnered with the San Bernardino Turkey Trot as a sponsor and active participant, supporting its mission to promote health and wellness while fostering community unity.?
Our role extends beyond funding. Our team connects with the community at our sponsor booth to build trust and authentic connections with the community we’re so proud to support. By investing time and energy — not just resources — we help preserve the spirit of this cherished tradition.?
This hands-on involvement reflects our belief that businesses thrive when they engage with the people and places they serve. Supporting initiatives like the San Bernardino Turkey Trot allows us to contribute to something far greater than ourselves: a stronger, healthier Inland Empire.?
The Power of Giving Back?
One of the most impactful aspects of the Turkey Trot is how its proceeds are used to uplift the local community. Every dollar raised goes back into programs and initiatives that address critical issues like homelessness, youth empowerment, and support for the wrongfully incarcerated.?
Last year, the funds made a tangible difference for organizations like Exonerated Nation, which helps individuals wrongfully incarcerated rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society. Support was also directed to Pilgrim Church, whose downtown San Bernardino shelter program provides essential services for those experiencing homelessness. Additionally, the Turkey Trot contributed to Lutheran Social Services, recognized for its impactful community programs, and the American Legion Girls State Auxiliary Program, which offers scholarships and summer governance opportunities for young women pursuing careers in civil service.?
The Turkey Trot exemplifies the power of collective impact, creating a ripple effect that extends far beyond race day. Together with other community partners, we are proud to invest in the next generation and help build a stronger, more empowered future for all.?
Building Traditions That Last?
At Dedeaux, we believe the impact of a tradition like the Turkey Trot extends well beyond race day. It’s about more than miles run or medals earned — it’s about fostering connections, inspiring healthy habits, and strengthening the bonds that make communities thrive.?
From our first sponsorship in 2021 to our continued participation each year, we’ve been proud to stand behind this event as part of our larger mission of creating lasting value. Supporting the Turkey Trot is just one example of how we work to uplift communities and build traditions that leave a legacy of health and connection.?

Looking Ahead?
The 10th San Bernardino Turkey Trot is just around the corner, and we’re reminded of why traditions like these are so important. They’re about more than the event itself — they’re about celebrating health, gratitude, and the connections that unite us all. This Thanksgiving, let’s give thanks for the traditions that bring us together and the opportunities we have to make a difference — one step, one mile, and one community at a time.?
