Building Trust in Trustworthy AI
In this edition, I will cover Creating Trust in AI as well as
Essential Pillars in Building Trust in Trustworthy AI : Pillar # 3 - Audit
Why do we need to trust AI?
You may have recognized the double helix dna symbol in "Trusted AI" above, to highlight the image as well as the premise of trust in these highly impactful systems start at the basic building level and integrated into the very DNA and fabric. I base this on on my twenty five years of building holistic risk based implementations and strategies that encompassed entire organizations from a Security, Privacy and Risk perspective. A recurring business fact is the focus on bottom line and business growth with societal or business impact being a lower priority if at all.
We have to change that mindset now and adopt a conscientious view that goes beyond financial benefit. Cognizance at a systemic and every facet of an organization on the creation, adoption and implementation of systems such as AI. At the DNA level.
Creating Trust in AI is challenging and continues to be a challenge most notably due to factors such as Opacity.
Lets look at some ways of mitigating that, read this article from MIT Sloan Management Review: AI programs, ML programs should be supplemented with Explainability modules for transparency and fairness.
"Stakeholders need to believe that AI programs are accurate and trustworthy. Artificial intelligence explainability can help."
