Building Trust In Courts
I spoke today to the Arkansas judicial conference in Hot Springs on procedural fairness and judicial decision making. building trust in courts requires focused attention on how we treat people and how we explain our decisions. The best courts measure the court’s fairness. Do people feel heard by the judge? Do they understand the decision and why that was the result? Trust in courts is earned not a given.

6 年Agreed. As I discuss in my judicial education programs, these important considerations must also include effective and meaningful communication aids for people who are limited English proficient and people with communication disabilities.
