Building trust
A quote I recently read was "don't trust everything you see, even salt looks like sugar". :) While appreciating the point, it set me thinking on the importance of #buildingtrust. I would like to present my point of view on why the key mission of every enterprise is to build trust.
Yes, great customer service, quality solutions, engineering efficiency, revenues, margins are great goals, but I would argue that none of these exist without trust. We end up buying from brands whose stories we trust, we sign long agreements without reading the fine print when we enter agreements with people we trust, we gravitate to channels we trust to consume our news, we use smart devices from companies we trust. Yes, in some cases trust gets broken and has unfavorable consequences. Despite that, I believe that in today’s hyper-connected world; we sometimes forget that as humans we all seek and are driven towards #trust
I see this daily in my new job. There are 100’s of startups in the #AI space, all shouting claims of accuracy and competing for the pot at the end of the rainbow. In this scenario, most companies would hold their data and their data science close to their chest as their “prized jewels”. We do too but at Qure.ai, we see the world slightly differently. Few months ago we open sourced a dataset of 491 head CTs with corresponding radiologist reads (courtesy https://www.caring-research.com) inviting others to build upon our results from this data. You can download the same at https://headctstudy.qure.ai/dataset/
In a similar vein, our R&D team at Qure.ai has been sharing learnings as we’ve been on this journey via open blogs. We yesterday released one on how we improved the performance of our head CT AI solution in the presence of imaging artifacts. Read it at https://blog.qure.ai/notes/reducing-fps-due-to-artifacts
Some may call this releasing potential IP, we call it #buildingtrust. I'd end it with another quote on the web "To be trusted is a greater compliment than to be loved". Love it!

5 年Partly agree with you.? what Qure does makes strategic sense for Qure based on its growth ambitions, product lifecycle and such.? The needs of other parties in the space may be different and thus that drives their actions.? nevertheless, a well written article. check this out?https://insights.som.yale.edu/insights/got-great-idea-tell-your-rivals

5 年Agree. Trust is the foundation of everything we do. However I would say trust is a hygiene factor today. For people to really buy post winning trust the product has to be really good too and consistently. The product and trust then become part of a “virtuous cycle” both adding to and feeding off each other!
