In a non-literal way, I partly welcome the bearish - albeit temporary - market conditions that have recently graced us, as they essentially prompt pretenders to step aside as the real builders steal the spotlight.?
This is a sentiment that runs through each and every fibre of Orbit Cosmos… and I now think it’s time to explain it further to my social media following…if not now, then when?
Be it BTC’s price reversal at $70k, huge crypto long liquidations and sell pressure, disappointing US employment data, broader stock market dips, or the merry-go-round of geopolitical issues that we have to continue contending with, August’s market crash has a pretty intuitive explanation behind it.?
Turbulent market times present two distinct opportunities. For those who fail to prepare, frailties, short-comings, and long-term inviability are open to being exposed. On the flip side, those worthy of sustainable long-term success have the opportunity to prove it by standing tall whilst those around them fall.?
Throughout the various dips over the past year, Orbit Cosmos and the building of Pikamoon have been a showcasing of the latter. Below I will outline five reasons why this is the case.?
- Reinforcing Fundamentals: With reduced market hype and general activity, we’ve had time to dial-in on what really matters when building a business; the fundamentals. Market speculation can be exciting…however it can also be a distraction, which is why we must thank these periods of calm for affording us time to build a stronger and more sustainable project that’s grounded in solid foundations.
- Unwavered Building: We’re constantly innovating and building…however in times of industry calm, our development updates are able to shine even brighter. Be it the Pikamoon Arcade, open world trailers, or the hour-by-hour work of our community managers, Pikamoon evidently embraces and remains unwavered when ‘boring’ market conditions arise. Better yet, we’ve put together an hour-long documentary that showcases all of this in cinematic format…so be sure to check it out when it drops on Friday!
- Hiring For the Future: Hiring industry-leading talent isn’t about selling a fake dream…it’s about inspiring ‘implicit dreams’ that are born from what candidates see when they step into our Islamabad HQ. This is the very ethos that’s allowed us to home 80+ long-term-oriented employees…all of whom were chosen thanks to bearish conditions weeding-out the short-sighted candidates that are born during bullish times. Again, Friday’s documentary will be able to demonstrate this most effectively.?
- “Tough Times Make Strong Men”… and the Same Can Be Said For Communities: Without incurring market conditions that test a person’s loyalty, the PIKA community simply wouldn’t have any substance to it. Further, a healthy mix of bull and bearish conditions is what’s needed for building a sustainable and legit community - and similar to the point made about recruitment, bearish conditions also present an exit door for those not aligned with our long-term vision. With these factors in mind, we firmly welcome the ‘weeding-out opportunities’ that bear markets present, whilst equally being even more appreciative of those who understand our long-term vision.??
- The Ultimate ‘Resilience Signifier’: Similar to the point made about communities, bearish conditions give us the opportunity to showcase our strong foundations and overall resilience when faced with unfavourable market sentiment. Our progress pre, post, and during these times is therefore a beacon of confidence and viability, as well as an optic that will massively play into our hands come bullish market swings.
Ultimately, our ability to continuously showcase these strengths is something we can be incredibly bullish on. As a result of the reduced noise, both Pikamoon and Orbit Cosmos are standing taller than ever, allowing us to gain the correct attention and support from discerning onlookers that - by virtue of still being active during bearish conditions - also align with our long-term ambitions.?
As another reminder, please look out for the 1-hour Pikamoon documentary which goes live TODAY!
