There is a solid case to be made for investing in sustainable infrastructure, as it brings many opportunities to countries, such as more effective trade and transport and attracting investment and tourism.

"Investment needed in sustainable infrastructure is huge, and not only in the region – this is a global challenge. Governments don’t have the resources needed to make existing infrastructure more efficient and also develop new infrastructure projects. In both respects, partnerships with the private sector can be beneficial indeed", Biljana explained.?

“New technologies, such as 5G, allow for the transformation of human activity and bring us closer to creating "smart" cities. We need to remember that investments needed to develop energy infrastructure are not only for renewable energy and other similar projects but also for improving the electrical grid for power distribution”, she added.?
