Building Support Structures For Business Owners - The Advisor Concierge

As a Business Owner I know how challenging it can be to find the right advice and connections. It wasn't surprising that our research identified that 88% of Business Owners seek clarity, connection and independent support. This is why it was important to us that the Advisor Concierge Service was made available to Business Owners at no cost to help them reach quality, trusted people outside of their networks.

We hope that every business connecting with the Advisor Concierge is looking forward to the future or is dedicated to getting ahead with an important business initiative. we know that among the 100's of businesses we support each year, some may be seeking support for reasons that are more challenging. It could be someone making a difficult decision to transition the business for medical reasons or Founders worried about how to navigate risky growth that takes them out of their comfort zone. Thankfully, our advisor community who support many Founders and Business Owners are very good at spotting when they are having a hard time. The stories of genuine care on Advisory Boards never fail to make an impact on me.

On a personal note, I recently read a business story from our Advisor Concierge that was gathered from a Business Owner's experience when setting up an Advisory Board. A hard-working husband and wife team built a $14m business and then found out that he was gravely ill, but it was too late to make any abrupt changes. Through all the hardship the wife jumped in to keep the business going even though her husband had been the technical expert. To add to the challenge, they wanted to leave a legacy for their young children. For 3 years she kept the business going and had hardly rested during this difficult time. She had heard of an Advisory Board and approached the Advisor Concierge for help.

We stepped her through a careful, confidential process to really ensure that she has clarity on what she was trying to achieve so we were clear on how she needs to be supported.

Having scoped out what she needed after gaining clarity for the business and herself, the Advisor Concierge worked swiftly with our community to create a supportive structure to stay the course for the next 3 years.

After carefully selecting an Advisory Board that fit her needs she said to us that she wanted the Advisory community to know how much their targeted support, structure and compassion has meant.

“To know that I have a quality Advisory Board Chair and advisors who are fit for my needs, as well as a broader advisory community for me to tap into when I need them is such a relief. It gives me strength to carry on with building the legacy we had both hoped for our children”.

We saw that same spirit of support when a business partnership was struggling with changes in the market and the partners had become disconnected with each other. The first thing the Certified Chair did was support them to navigate their partnership decisions. Not only did they make some difficult decisions, they made commitments to do it safely with the well being of everyone involved. They then moved on with implementing an Advisory Board to focus on the future priorities of the business.

If someone’s going through a difficult situation, I have great faith that the advisory community will be there to assist.

The Advisor Concierge doesn't just create Advisory Board, they support people. That means going the extra mile for them when the situation calls for it.

Make sure you enjoy wherever you are in your business journey. To those that have reached out to us, thanks for allowing the Advisory Board Centre community to support you.

Understanding and agreeing the personal needs of those in a business whether it be partners or family members is the bedrock for giving advice to businesses.? Once agreed this will have a significant influence on the business strategy.? A certified chair or advisory board can help to identify those personal needs.
