Building on Success: My Continued Data Science Journey at Catenate Corp

Following a productive fall internship as a Data Scientist at Catenate Corp, I'm thrilled to share my experiences this semester as I continue to grow and refine my skills. While the remote work environment initially presented some challenges, the ongoing support from my supervisor, Sameer Ranjan , and my exceptional colleagues ensured another enriching and seamless experience.

Catenate remains dedicated to developing AI-powered products that empower individuals and organizations alike. This semester, I had the opportunity to delve deeper into their innovative platform, MayaMaya, which streamlines talent acquisition by assisting companies in building a more robust talent pool.

Building upon the foundation established last semester, I tackled a range of new projects that further honed my data science expertise:

• Job Recommender System with Two-Tower TensorFlow Recommenders Model: I designed and implemented a job recommendation system leveraging a two-tower architecture within TensorFlow Recommenders. This model analyzes both candidate profiles and job descriptions to identify suitable matches, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the hiring process for both managers and candidates.
• Job Description Matcher with Soft Skills and Technical Expertise: I constructed a model to assess the "goodness-of-fit" between job seekers and potential roles. This model considers various factors such as soft skills scores, educational qualifications, job experience, and technical skill scores, providing a comprehensive evaluation that goes beyond traditional resume screening methods.
• Candidate Recommender System (In Progress): I'm currently developing a cutting-edge candidate recommender system along with my team specifically designed for employers. This model will utilize soft skill scores and diverse technical skills to understand employer preferences for shortlisting candidates. The objective is to create a state-of-the-art solution that streamlines the selection process and empowers employers to identify high-potential candidates.

Beyond technical skills, this internship fostered communication, collaboration, and industry knowledge. It solidified my passion to use data for positive change.
