Building Success at HQ: From Sales Ops Rookie to Team Leader

Before joining HQ, Ireni had a hard time finding her place in the global workforce. She had just graduated in 2020, full of enthusiasm and ready to start, but then the world got hit by a historical event: the Covid 19 pandemic.?
During the pandemic, millions lost their jobs, and it became even harder for job seekers. She knocked on many doors, jumping from one unfulfilling job to another. Each difficult-to-get opportunity turned out to be disappointing.?
In the summer 2021, Ireni stumbled upon Headquarters on Linkedin and scheduled her interview.
It felt so different from the very beginning of the recruitment process. I could sense a different environment and mindset from everyone that interviewed me compared to what I have experienced in other places. Once I joined, it proved I was not wrong. I had a chance to work simultaneously in both Sales Ops and Accounts Receivable departments and then move entirely to Sales Ops 6 months later. My time in AR was not long but it definitely helped me see the bigger picture and build a cooperative relationship between AR and Sales Ops that ended up being extremely beneficial.

As for Sales Ops, it became my pride and joy. I look back to 2021 when it was only Catie Lazic and I doing order entry for smaller clients. Today, we have a great team made up of amazing hard working people that, starting this year, I officially got to lead as well! Since those early times, I have helped onboard many huge clients, including Stone Road, Eaze, GTI and Nabis. What I like the most is that it has been a non-stop learning process. I’ve acquired knowledge on multiple platforms and tools and developed my business skills. As I reflect on my journey, I see that I've grown alongside the department, an extraordinary and rare opportunity that not everyone gets to experience. I’m beyond grateful for having the opportunity to see the department, as well as the company as a whole, grow and be part of its success.
Despite the challenges she faced at the start of her career, her determination and our supportive environment have allowed her to thrive. Her journey from a fresh graduate to a leader in our Sales Ops team embodies the spirit of resilience and continuous learning that we value so much at HQ.
