Build a Stronger You for 2025

One of my all-time favorite movies has to be The Temptations. It’s not just me either. There’s something about it that speaks to so many millennials who grew up on stories of Motown. That sense of nostalgia, the music that shaped a generation, the costumes, the personalities, it all just hits different.

And then, of course, there’s the legend himself, David Ruffin. Anyone who's seen the movie probably agrees that he carried a certain star power. But let's talk about Otis for a second. He was the glue that kept everyone together, the silent strength behind the scenes. And Blue? Well, Blue was the peacekeeper, no question.

But my personal favorite?

Eddie Kendricks. Let me tell you why. Eddie didn’t need the spotlight to shine. His loyalty, his raw talent, it was unmatched. He understood his role in the group, supported everyone, and never tried to outshine them, even though we all know he could’ve. It’s like what Kelly Rowland is to Beyoncé. There’s no doubt about her talent, but she’s also that steady, loyal presence that keeps things grounded. Eddie had that same vibe.

What’s even more inspiring is that Eddie had success beyond The Temptations. He could’ve stayed solo and built his own thing. But he came back.

Why?

Because he understood the power of support.

That’s a lesson that hits home for me and how I run Dardee Deals LLC . My clients always laugh when I tell them this, but it’s true. Like Eddie, I’m a movement on my own, but with my clients?

We’re a force.

In the words of Ne-Yo, “You make me better.”

And that's exactly how I feel about the people I work with.
