Building a Strong Team

The most adventurous team building event I've participated in was a rafting trip down the Ocoee River in Tennessee. Being part of a new team, I was a little reluctant to share my fear of rapidly flowing water or that I could barely swim... I made it through but it was a stressful experience. It did, however, result in a very strong bond with my manager. If I trusted him with my life, I think I could trust him in an office environment. While that team is no longer together, we've all moved on in our careers, that relationship ended up making a lasting impression for me.
I find myself thinking about successful teams and how I might have a lasting impact on my team. I found this Forbes article and thought I'd share:

My new work team is going out for lobster this week, a team building activity that's much more my speed. What great team building activity have you enjoyed? Did it have the impact on team dynamics making the team more effective? Please share...
