Building A Story Brand and The Difference It Can Make To Your Consultancy Business

Building A Story Brand and The Difference It Can Make To Your Consultancy Business

Welcome to the latest edition of the Seven Figure Consultant LinkedIn Newsletter for Women in Consulting. Don't forget that you can get daily updates from Jessica in your LinkedIn news feed by accessing her LinkedIn profile and hitting Follow. She will be sharing insights and discussions through the week that she would love to hear your views on.

Have you ever found yourself accidentally watching a TV show you had no intention of viewing?

You pop into the room to collect a book or cup, glance at the screen, and a couple of minutes later you’re still there, hooked on watching it. The story just sucked you in.

That’s the kind of impact that you want to have on your audience, whether, you're doing a Facebook live, or you’re sending them an email, or you have something on your LinkedIn profile you want to share. You want each sentence to capture their attention and lead them on to want to read the next bit.

When you are super clear on who you’re talking to, and what they want to know about you, it’s so much easier to communicate confidently and consistently every time you speak and write about your business, to create content that sucks the viewer in.

My guest on the Seven Figure Consultant Podcast this week is Lucy Eckley, founder and director of strategic communications consultancy, Build Your Brand Story. She helps independent consultants build a unique story so they can stand out in their industry, get hired by their ideal clients and grow their expert status.

I invited her onto the podcast to talk about how her work applies particularly to consultants, including:

  • How you can stand out by being yourself
  • Going beyond the buzz phrase ‘Brand Story’ and exploring what this really means for your consulting business
  • The two biggest mistakes consultants make when it comes to personal branding
  • How your brand story can turn competition into collaboration
  • Signs that indicate your brand story isn’t working for your business
  • The key differences between building a brand story and a traditional brand identity exercise
  • Which parts of your brand story to use where
  • How to share the personal messages about you and your brand story without it negatively affecting your business
  • The simple check you should make before you hit ‘publish’ on social media posts

And tell me in the comments - what was the last brand to hook you in with their content, and what was it that got your attention?

Free Report - The Six Elements of a Seven Figure Consulting Business

I've created a free PDF report called The Six Elements of a Seven Figure Business. It’s my most popular free resource and in it I outline the 6 areas of unscaled businesses that need to change in order to move past being ‘booked up and burned out’ and shifting into that higher gear that gets you cruising again.

It’s the framework that helps consultant women like you find their feet and get back to leading the business, rather than being buried in client work and back-end business operations.

Sign up here for your PDF report, and I'll show you the six elements your consultancy needs to make the shift from a nice little 6-figure lifestyle business to a serious 7-figure enterprise.
