Building A Story Brand

Building A Story Brand by Donald Miller covers a topic that is most relevant – especially in today’s current blend of physical and digital space. The Faith Driven Entrepreneur | Author hits the topic head-on; “Customers don’t generally care about your story; they care about their own.” It’s Not About Us! It should be about Them!

HIGHLIGHTS

  1. Once we all accept that a STORY is indeed the key, it is then necessary to CLARIFY The MESSAGE, and should be about Survive and Thrive! ALL great stories are about Survival (Physical | Emotional | Relational or Spiritual) and anything else no one is interested in.
  2. The Secret Weapon that will Grow Your Business is the SB7 Principles. These Principles | Soundbites enable the customer to be attracted to the offer.
  3. Following the SB7 is The StoryBrand Script and this is the reader's opportunity to put Pen to Paper! The author provides charts whereby, you can fill in all seven elements and in doing so you can organize and simplify your message.
  4. StoryBrand Principles; 1) The Customer is the HERO and (sorry not in order here) 3) They are in Search of a GUIDE. The author prompts us to remember - The Hero is never the strongest character AND the Guide has “Been There and Done That”.
  5. StoryBrand Principle 2) Customers BUY Solutions to Internal Problems NOT External ones AND we must have a HOOK to capture their attention by identifying their problems.
  6. StoryBrand Principle 4) A Guide comes with an effective PLAN with one of two things. A) Clarity on How they can do business with us OR B) We remove the Risk of investing.
  7. StoryBrand Principle 5) There must be a Call To Action; where the customer hits the “Buy Now” button and it is up to us to make that transaction possible.
  8. StoryBrand Principle 6) How to Avoid Failure; the Hero wants to escape something Bad or experience something Good.
  9. StoryBrand Principle 7) Tell the Customer How the Brand will Change their Lives!
  10. Finally, there is one thing left; the Human Desire to TRANSFORM! If we are successful, we are helping people become better versions of themselves.

AUTHOR’S INTENT (in my humble opinion) Donald Miller reminds us that thousands of companies and businesses close their doors each year. NOT because they don’t have a great product but because potential customers cannot figure out how that product will make their lives better (pg. 41) Donald Miller walks us through Step by Step How to ensure Success in Building A Story Brand.

ACTION STEPS

1.?????Take advantage of The StoryBrand Framework (SB7) as it clearly depicts How to Simplify Marketing and Messaging and then use the seven elements to create The StoryBrand Script.

2.?????Everything that is shared in the SB7 and The BrandScript MUST then be communicated on our Websites | Emails | Marketing.

Thank for sharing this, ★ Debbie Saviano ★. I can especially see how this is so accurate "but because potential customers cannot figure out how that product will make their lives better". This is HUGE!
