#AlwaysPlay and #AlwaysLearn has been our mantra in QtSchool lab (STEAM Education Lab) at schools. We love to gamify everything kids build and everything kids see around.
Basketball is perhaps a game enjoyed by all! We asked kids to delve into the world of creativity and sports by exploring the building of a basketball hoop using QtPi's building blocks.
Kids were encouraged to discover their love for building very own hoop. Designs were assessed based on the idea and explanation. Kids were asked to use building blocks to assembling the structure, ensuring it's sturdy enough to withstand best slam dunks.
The intersection of play and engineering was observed through the design. In the next class we are getting ready to shoot, score, and unleash imagination of play that have rules written by kids.
The girls in the group came up with an interesting proposition that ball need to pass through a hurdle before gets into hoop. That's an interesting challenge to players! Another girls team came up with two hoops with a choice for players to use any hoop to slam dunk. That would mean more to defend :).
