Are you doubting your ability to achieve your goals? You're not alone.
As someone who served in the military for 34 years and has been applying confidence building in corporate and education sectors for the last 18 years, I know the importance of building unshakeable confidence.
Confidence is the key to unlocking your potential and achieving your dreams, even in the face of obstacles and formidable challenges. Here are some practical tips on how to build self-confidence: -
1.????Identify your strengths. Start by recognizing and acknowledging your strengths and skills. Make a list of your accomplishments and the things you do well. Focusing on your strengths can boost your confidence and help you overcome self-doubt. Remember, "strengthen your strengths rather than overcome your weaknesses."
2.????Set aspirational goals. Setting aspirational (and not limiting) goals and working towards them can help you gain confidence. Break down big goals into smaller, manageable steps, and celebrate your progress along the way.

3.????Challenge negative self-talk. Pay attention to your inner voice (Little Voice) and the way you communicate with yourself. Challenge negative self-talk and replace it with positive, encouraging statements. For example, instead of saying, "What if this does not happen," say, "What if this does happen?"
4.????Love yourself. Loving and taking care of your physical, emotional, and mental health can also help boost confidence. Exercise regularly, eat healthily, and practice relaxation techniques like meditation or yoga. Taking care of yourself can help you feel more confident and resilient.
5.????Learn new skills. Learning new skills and taking on new challenges can also help build confidence. Take a class, try a new hobby, or volunteer for a project at work. Each new experience can help you gain confidence in your abilities.
6.????Surround yourself with Positivity. Surround yourself with positive, supportive people who believe in you and your abilities. Avoid negative people who bring you down or make you doubt yourself. Remember, Proximity is Power.
Remember, building self-confidence is a process, and it takes time and effort. Be patient with yourself and keep working towards your goals. With practice and perseverance, you can develop unshakeable confidence in your abilities and achieve anything you set your mind to.

1 年Erudite and a great post Brigadier Sushil Bhasin . Confidence is a state of mind with positive disposition empowered by knowledge, character, commitment, courage ( moral and physical) and clarity of thought/vision. These remain foundational to the military leaders to tread the most hazardous course with self confidence. In the present ever challenging dynamic environment the Corporate will do well to imbibe these qualities. Regards

1 年Great insights into confidence building sir, would like to add on to point number 6 wherein it may not always be possible to avoid negative people hence working around them to consciously avoid their negativity would add to the success of building self confidence . Liked the point on setting Aspirational goals vis a vis Limiting goals; very pertinent as setting limiting goals would bring about a feeling of complacency and a false sense of confidence.
