Building Secure Workloads in Azure

One of the barriers that customers often encounter when they start to think about Public Cloud computing is one of trust and security. I am often asked "how can I trust something that I cannot see or lock down, in the same way I can in my own data centre". This is especially true for customers that operate in highly regulated industries, such as Public Sector and Financial Services. Leading our internal Azure Security team in the Customer Success Unit, I quickly came to the realisation that every customer thinks that their situation and environment is unique and no one else has the same risks and issues to deal with. In some ways this is true, every customer has is unique in their own way and the whole consulting industry have been build around this. However there are a lot of common ways to address security in the Public Cloud and my colleagues and I have been developing templates and architecture patterns to help customers achieve compliance and security.

To help get this learning out into industry, I have been working with my colleagues, partners and customers over the past few months, to put together an event that tackles this challenge and dispels the myth that you cannot build secure workloads and manage sensitive data in Azure.

The event "Building Secure Workloads in Azure. " takes place on the 20th March at our London Office, 2 Kingdom Street, Paddington. It is targeting CIO, CTO, CISO and Security Architects and the first event is focussed on Public Sector.

This event has been developed to give our customers, through examples, the details of why Azure is the Public Cloud location for their secure workloads at UK Official and in a highly regulated industriesThe agenda will include how Microsoft and Azure protects customer data, how customers can break down security blockers, architect UK Official solutions and best practices for securing modern applications. We will be opening with Keynotes from our own Stuart Aston and Andy Spurway and finishing with QA panel formed of Microsoft, Partner and Customer experts.

You will get the chance to hear from, and network with some of the best speakers Microsoft has to offer in the field of security alongside our customers and partners. From this event, you will be able to take away our key messages and confidence on how to break down security blockers within your organisation to achieve your digital transformational journey by accelerating accreditation in the cloud. You will also be able to book a one-to-one session with our experts during the day to talk through your specific scenario. There will also be plenty of opportunities to network with your peers and gain an understanding of how others are driving their digital transformation through public cloud.
