Building a Safer Future: Rocktree MgO’s Journey to Innovation and Safety

In the wake of increasing global awareness about fire safety in construction, Rocktree MgO Construction Materials Inc. is on a mission to revolutionize building standards, starting with our upcoming production facility in Southern Ontario. Our journey is not just about innovation; it’s about preventing tragedies and fostering safety through superior building materials.

The catastrophic fire at Grenfell Tower in England highlighted the critical need for fire-resistant building materials. Post-fire investigations revealed that the cladding used on Grenfell lacked the necessary fire resistance, contributing to the tragedy. However, tests showed that magnesium oxide (MgO) boards used behind other types of cladding significantly enhanced fire resistance. This revelation has not only spurred debates across the UK but has also triggered a global reassessment of building materials.

Here in Canada, the threat posed by wildfires has become increasingly prominent, with incidents like the devastating fires in Jasper, Alberta, where communities saw firsthand the destructive power of such natural calamities. These events underline the urgent need for building materials that can withstand extreme conditions and provide greater safety.

Rocktree MgO is poised to meet this need with our MgO Wall Boards. Our boards are designed to be not only fire-resistant but also mold-resistant and environmentally friendly, addressing multiple challenges faced by the construction industry today. As we bring our production online in Southern Ontario, we aim to set new standards in building safety and sustainability.

The use of MgO boards in places like Jasper and other vulnerable communities could represent a significant advancement in public safety, potentially mitigating the impact of future wildfires. With Canada’s increasing susceptibility to forest fires, adopting MgO boards could transform the safety landscape of construction in fire-prone areas.

As we look to the future, Rocktree MgO is committed to being at the forefront of this transformation. We are actively seeking partners, investors, and collaborators who share our vision of creating safer, sustainable communities through advanced building solutions.

Join us on this journey to make a tangible difference in how buildings are constructed in Canada and beyond. Together, we can build a future where tragedies like Grenfell are a thing of the past, and communities are equipped to face natural disasters with resilience.
