On Tuesday 13 June, Catalyst Care Group was proud to sponsor and attend a conference in Manchester at the Pendulum Conference Centre, focused on Building the Right Support for autistic people and people with a learning disability.? These conferences are critical in bringing like-minded, change-driven families and professionals to collaborate on key issues related to the Transforming Care Agenda.?
Our team arrived at the venue the day before the event to settle in, set up our stand and prepare for an exciting day ahead of networking, learning and sharing best practice.? The team were ready to chat, engage with and learn from everybody who visited our stand.?
Each seminar brought immense value, with the meeting being chaired by Shaun Webster MBE , a well-known champion of equal rights for people with a learning disability, who spoke about the Bigger Better Label Campaign. ? Amongst other speakers were Skills for Care, who talked us through the latest Oliver McGowan Training updates and how providers could tangibly engage with the programme.?
We also heard about the new structure of forensic teams from clinicians at North London Forensic Providers Collaborative, and asked questions on the future impact on healthcare services once police services step back from non-crisis mental health calls.???
Another hot topic was STOMP (Stopping the Over Medication of People with a Learning Disability), where we heard from Shiva Fouladi-Nashta, a community pharmacist focused on reducing unnecessary medication prescribing in our communities.? There were some hugely positive insights shared, which palpably inspired delegates to review their own systems.?

We shared information about the LD Network Bridging Support model, a solution increasingly used by commissioners and social workers to significantly speed up discharges from hospital, and a case study on how the model works, taking questions on the Q+A panel following the late morning session.?
The event was well-attended by committed professionals, with all the right questions being asked, filling the room with hope, energy and focus to drive positive change though using creative ways to keep people safe in their own homes and communities.?
Here’s to continuous improvement, and renewed commitment to driving the Transformation Agenda forward.?
