Building Resilient Leaders Through Kids Camp

Building Resilient Leaders Through Kids Camp

In November, we embarked on a transformative journey with 40 children at our Kids Camp in Mombasa. Themed “Serving Unshakably” based on Hebrews 12:28, the camp was designed to instill resilience, courage, and a heart of service. Through carefully curated activities, the children explored what it means to serve others with steadfast faith, even in challenging times. Watching these young minds embrace biblical principles through storytelling, interactive sessions, and creative arts was nothing short of inspiring.

With stories and activities, the children had a front row seat, learning to trust God in the face of fear. Two teenagers serving had an opportunity to speak & preach at the camp. This simple yet profound takeaway was a testament to the camp’s impact. Activities like singing, role-playing, and group discussions allowed the children to express their understanding of unshakable faith in tangible ways.

Beyond the spiritual growth, the camp fostered strong social bonds among the participants. The teamwork displayed during group games and challenges showed how children can learn resilience not only as individuals but as a community. Their ability to support and encourage one another was a reflection of the camp’s emphasis on collaborative service.

For parents and educators, this camp provided a glimpse into how values like resilience and service can be nurtured from a young age. These children left the camp not just with lessons but with memories and skills that will shape their character for years to come. The camp reminded us that leadership begins with faith and a willingness to serve others, no matter the circumstances.

As we reflect on this impactful experience, we’re motivated to continue creating opportunities for young leaders to grow. What’s your approach to teaching resilience and faith to children? Let’s share insights and build a generation of unshakable leaders together.
