Building a dialogue

Building a dialogue

I focus on beginning our dialogue over the Internet.

I represent a business group and a political party that can serve people in many countries. The former helps people to manage private resources, the latter public resources. I am focusing on business transactions: we can discuss usefully the income and the expenses of your household and of your organisations.

1. People need to agree on their main language.

It's easy when 2 people speak the same language natively and when they have one language in common.

I can note in our databases the languages in which you communicate in the order in which you prefer to use them.

2. Of course one is going to like the interactions with some people more. It might be hard to explain why; person 1 might simply enjoy more the presence of person 2. To the extent that you can say what you like in your interactions, do so, so that I can adapt and play better my part in making our relationship as good as possible!

Here are some general considerations:

2.1 You can express yourself freely.

There is room for your emotions, whether it's bitterness or laughter.

When you want to write or tell a story, I can find time to read or listen and to discuss it.

When you focus on how software should help, we can agree on how data should be encrypted.

2.2 One imitates what others do.

People have inspired me to be friendly. I am also supportive. I pay attention in order to understand people's wishes. It fulfils me to see people's most realistic dreams come true, so I represent goal-fulfilling teams.

People have inspired me to be respectful. You don't have to earn my respect. I respect you, your sleep, your meals, your household, your words, and so on. I live to see people served as well as they like, so that they are more probable to enjoy all these things. Life's short. Let's live it now!

3. Each person is interested in many topics.

You can share an interest wherever whenever.

I'd add each interest to a database that we'd use together in order to agree on when we discuss which topic.

Topics are related to a person's feelings, thoughts, views, and desired benefits. I am going to pay attention to these things. Views influence how people plan to reach their goals.

As we build rapport, you can trust me to think together with you about how best to get a certain benefit. How do you choose people with whom you think and plan?

4. Which communication software do you like to use when you communicate publicly?

4.1 I started using Facebook in September 2008. Daniela Basarab invited me. It has usually seemed difficult to appreciate how it's designed.

It is a communication program, but they actually sell poor communication: advertising.

I recommend paying providers who spend it on more useful things.

On 22 April 2017 I tried Meta Workplace. I think I've paid no money to Meta.

4.2 I started using Twitter on 18 February 2009. I found out about it from Sun Microsystems, a company founded by Scott McNealy. (It was acquired by Oracle, a company founded by Larry Ellison.)

Unlike Medium, LinkedIn doesn't allow us to mention somebody when we want, e.g. in an article.

Twitter seems designed absurdly.

I've paid no money to Twitter.

4.3 I started using Google Plus (the dying Google Currents) on 16 July 2011. Deirdre Quinlan Hudson invited me. In 2013 Google seemed to provide the most useful communication software. As others pointed out, Google launched and sunset computer programs, a reason for which it seems difficult to rely on that team. (I sell a communication program on which one can rely for a long time.)

I've been paying for this service since 2015.

4.4 I started using Medium on 30 May 2013. I switched from Google Plus to Medium on 24 July 2018. It's an instance of continuing to use a service while somebody else could serve you better. The Medium team made it possible by not communicating with me during that time.

Medium can be regarded as the most useful communication program. When one wants to talk, one needs other software, e.g. Reverb for leaving audio messages. (I need it for LinkedIn, too, because I use a desktop computer.) When the Medium team communicates better with me, I can use their software again.

I've paid for it since 2019.

4.5 On 29 July 2022 I switched from Medium to LinkedIn.

I can pay when I agree with this team on how they're going to benefit me.

4.5.1 We can use mainly "articles" to communicate. Example:

You create what LinkedIn calls an "article" in response to this one. You begin it with a phrase like: response to this article

You link the words "this article" to this article.

You copy the Web address of your article in a comment on this article.

I do the same to respond to your article.

This helps us to list messages in a conversation, to navigate to each message, and to create long or complex messages when we feel like it. How much do you like it?

4.5.2 We can schedule public talks often.

4.5.3 When you discover me and want to have a conversation, you can suggest the communication procedure you've laid out for yourself and a group that you represent, e.g. your family.

One can discover people in public conversations and in private ones. LinkedIn lets you:

a. respond to my public message (and start a public conversation with your response);

b. start a public conversation and invite me to it;

c. message me privately.

My inbox is open.

4.5.4 When I discover you, I might:

a. try to build rapport with you by joining conversations in which you've participated;

I communicate simply as a fellow human being about things that matter to you and to me.

b. acknowledge your interest in a certain topic because my organisation could benefit you in that context;

c. express interest in placing an order with you or negotiating a contract with you.

Do you want me to let you know that we'd want your services by commenting on an article of yours, by mentioning you in a post or by messaging you privately?

When you want to provide a service, we're going to create a provider profile for you in our databases. We shape it together with you, so that we can use it together effectively.

This message is representative, but not definitive. As long as I can edit it and add messages to our conversations, I can communicate more and better.

My teams make available people, services, and means that help manage relationships, resources, and data.
