Building A Process for Growth

Building A Process for Growth

Oftentimes, entrepreneurs hire growth marketers or bring someone on board to help them grow their business.

However, they don't "build a process for growth," which sets them up for failure. To grow, you must find ways to experiment.

The problem is finding time to do that correctly, especially when you have multiple other tasks and ideas.

That’s why building a sustainable process for recording and implementing your ideas as experiments is essential.

So, where do you begin?

?? Start with a scientific method: When it comes to building a process for experimentation, it comes down to following a scientific method. This process has to be:-Scalable-Predictable-Repeatable

?? Always have a goal in mind: Every experiment you run should have an actionable and testable outcome.

?? Encourage and enable brainstorming and hypothesis formation: Building a culture of experimentation within your team requires encouragement and motivation to always be brainstorming.

Also, focus on building a mechanism for tracking and recording those brainstorms, whether it’s in an Excel sheet, Google Doc, Trello board, internal wiki page, or any other tool your team typically uses for internal documentation.

?? Prioritize: Once you’ve enabled brainstorming and hypothesis-writing on your team, you’ll find that you have more ideas than you know what to do with. Use HubSpot's PIE method to rank them in order of priority. The PIE stands for “Priority, Importance, Ease.”

?? Design and implement effective experiments: Clearly define the hypothesis, variables, and metrics for each experiment. Develop a detailed plan that outlines the steps needed to execute the experiment, assign responsibilities, and set a timeline.

?? Analyze: Once your experiment is complete, you must analyze and record the results and use them in practice.

?? Systematize your learnings: Sharing information internally is an excellent way to encourage transparency, record your learnings, and generate feedback along the way.

?? Rinse and repeat: Continually iterate on your experiments based on the insights gained.

Don't let anything hold you back—go out there and build a structured, repeatable process for experimentation.

Great article! One additional suggestion would be to regularly track and analyze metrics to ensure the growth process is effective and adjust as needed :)
