Building the Perfect Home
My clients are continuing their construction of their dream home and this is another one of my tips about "Building the Perfect Home."
Once you have a "home site" selected, the fun part really begins. Do you want the home set back on the lot? Or, do you want a smaller front yard with a larger back yard? Keep in mind that most neighborhoods have a build line for each lot. The is the point in the front of the lot where you cannot build over. It doesn't mean you can't push back if the planned home will fit. In this case, the lot was quite large so our Client had the option to push back or not.
The important thing to keep in mind is that there are no correct answers. There is only what you want and making decisions like this should involve a number of people. What do other homeowners in the area do? What is the ideal distance from the front of the lot to provide for a circular drive, or eliminate a steeper than wanted driveway. The builder, your REALTOR (if they are qualified), and an architect if you have one involved, should all be consulted. More to follow on my next posting about, “Building the Perfect Home!”
