Building on my "why runway" - The Pillars

If you read my post the other week, you would have heard me discuss the "why runway," the intrinsic drive that fuels your perseverance through every obstacle to achieve your life's work.

For me, discovering my own took time. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, starting ventures from a young age and enjoying some successes along the way. Through this journey, including time spent in Silicon Valley which really opened my eyes, I realised what truly makes me happy, gives me a sense of legacy, sustains me financially, and leverages my unique skills: contributing to our startup ecosystem and elevating it to a top performer on a per capita basis.

I’ve been fortunate to fulfil this passion as an angel investor, founder, mentor, and most recently, as a fund manager. My next step is to create a home, a place where others who share this ecosystem can safely network, build, and grow.

Globally, the best ecosystems all have a central hub for founders, investors, and service providers—a place where a rising tide lifts all boats, where socialising and working blend seamlessly, forging lifelong relationships.

In Australia, I don’t see such a place today, a venue where I can both contribute and benefit, a spiritual home for building the best version of myself and our ecosystem. That is why I chose to partner with a diverse group of like-minded individuals to build The Pillars, Australia’s first full-stack tech and finance business club.
