Building MPS (s)

This article includes one of the technology driven innovation in supply chain at farm-side. We are building 'mobility farm2market supply chain' through network of smart route mapped MPS (s) in rural area.

1. What is MPS (s):

MPS (s) are mobile pickup stations, which are points from where we collect the fresh produce in the pickups. And these stations are not physical stations they are flexible stations.

2. Tech play in scalability:(s):

1. Smart route mapping: All the MPS are smart route mapped with multiple variables (not only distance) such as commodity type, commodity volume, traffic, connectivity etc
2. Automatic Batching: Since difference commodity will be received through different MPS to CCs. Primary batching ( product, how much volume, to which Mandi, demand analysis, rate analysis etc) for selling in metro city Mandi and businesses happens at CCs. Secondary batching for selling to businesses happens at warehouse.
3. Price prediction engine: We can't scale if we are operating at 5000+ MPS and negotiating price with each farmers on these MPS. So we are building price prediction system through ML/AI using multi variant ( previous year patterns, origin, selling location, demand-supply, weather prediction, variety of the product, volume of the product at MPS etc)

3. How does it work

Farmers file all the information in advance on the app such as commodity name, volume, quality, origin, expected price, date of selling etc

We send them notifications on the app about arrival of the pickup, rates, payments, token number etc

4. How it is helpful for farmers:

• They don’t need to travel to Mandi, since there will be MPS in every potential village
• They get fixed price, no price fluctuation risk
• Instant payments at MPS, no need to travel to Mandis for payments
• Pre planned harvesting
• Free WiFi for internet use
• No need to worry of packing material
• They can save their time, by coming to MPS at assigned time

We are scaling it fast and aim to make as many as possible MPS in rural areas to work with farmers. We are also creating jobs in rural areas through this initiative.
