Building motivation and engagement in challenging times!
Navigating through uncertainty when being a manager means setting up the tone for the entire team and role-modeling positive energy.
How to balance your own stress, the need to deliver results and the best support of your people??
We rounded up a list of tips to keep in mind:
1.Remember, everybody handles stress differently –?take a one-on-one approach to find out what each team member needs.
Idea: Personal User Manuals. Merci Victoria Grace, former Head of Growth at Slack, shared a concept of Personal User Manuals. In the document, each team member can share their style of communication, preferences, expectations, pet peeves, but also areas for development. It’s a roadmap that shows how to communicate and work together, having in mind compassion and empathy.?
2. Keep lines of communication open – build an understanding of what’s happening in the industry, share information and be honest about any difficulties you may face as a team.
Idea: "Ask me anything" sessions. You can introduce an AMA “ask me anything” session to your work environment. Chip Bergh, CEO of Levi’s, hosts a regular company-wide meeting called “Chips & Beer” — a?quick update on the business followed by a one-hour Q&A, where no topic is off limits.
3. Keep your team involved – empower them to be part of the solution and to make decisions about their work?and every day hurdles.
