In the moving and packing industry, the success of each move relies entirely on our people. They’re the hands and hearts that ensure our clients’ belongings are shifted safely and with care. Whether it’s lifting heavy furniture onto a truck or meticulously packing heirlooms, each member plays a pivotal role in the relocation process.
At E-Movers, I’ve come to realise how integral it is to invest in your people and make them feel part of something meaningful within the organization. The Middle East workforce, being incredibly diverse, brings in its own challenges in managing teams. At E-Movers, despite these I’m proud of the inclusive culture we’ve built over the years, one based on collaboration, trust and shared purpose. I am happy to share that nearly 100 of our employees have been with us for over 10 years on the journey till now. In this post I share my thoughts on building a committed, high-performing team.
Hire people who align with your vision
Hiring for skills is essential, but passion and alignment with your vision is also crucial. When employees connect with the higher purpose, they find meaning in their work. By hiring people who resonate with your vision, you build a team that performs with pride, and this difference is reflected in the service quality.
Prioritize employee well-being
Happy employees make happy customers. As the moving industry is a physically demanding job, make sure you take all measures to ensure their overall well-being. Regular training sessions, team-building exercises, one-on-one mentoring, comprehensive health insurance to timely rewards and increase in responsibilities/remunerations are a few measures to keep employees happy and staying for a long time.
