Is building a healthy future possible..??

Is building a healthy future possible..??

Sitting here with a nice cup of my favorite flat white coffee in hand on a Monday morning, watching the waves hit the shores & the hustle-bustle of people at 6:30AM on a beach. I possibly cannot express efficiently, as to how health conscious the world around me has become, especially the younger generation.

It's a healthy sign overall because today's youth will define tomorrow's progress. A healthy positive generation will only make the future generations healthier & happier.

That's the secret.

My story starts about two decades ago, initially when I started my career, I never though twice before biting into anything. I would binge on excessively oily, highly unhealthy but superbly tasty street-side snacks, any time of the day, or even night. The work pressure never affected me, I could go probably 2-3 days without proper 8 hours of sleep at night & still continue to work as if nothing could ever affect me. The passion back then was tremendous & the fire within to excel at everything without making a big fuss about it was natural. Our priorities back then were to build our careers first.

My generation never focused on health, we just took each day by the horn & focused on creating something each & every day that would one day change the world. We used to CHEERS FOR THE CRAZY ONES (yeah, the apple fanatics from the 80's). But over a period of time, some of us back then, started breaking glasses for everything, every time & for everyone. That didn't work out too well for us, did it..??

Cutting-chai used to be high on the Sales Team's Agenda & coming from a banking & retail sales background, I consider myself fortunate enough to withstand & succeed in digesting all those spicy biryani's, vada-pav's & bhel-puri's, those coffee-induced nights & Red Bull induced days. Those last minute meetings which would go beyond midnight. The net profit of Horrible Bosses would have surpassed Harry Potter in our times...:)

I was plain lucky to find the right direction at the right time. However, I do still know a few people, here & there, somewhere, who were not so lucky & now suffer from what we call The Paralysis of Analysis. It was a joke amongst our close-friends back then but it is not funny at all now if one is suffering due to personal health negligence. Each one of us is first responsible for our own health.

Our priorities need to be set right. And the priorities of this new world are set on maintaining health & fitness at all costs. It's a great sign. It not only motivates me everyday to wear my sports shoes which were wrapped in a box for a year & go for a walk in the nearest park but it also helps me to rejuvenate my mind, body & soul each day, every day without fail, before I head to work again in advertising.

Achieving Fitness Beyond Forty is possible. Your happiness is back in your hands & now back to reality...

My morning coffee is done, time to get ready for office & beat the Monday morning blues with renewed energy & an awesome cup of tea.

Hello Samit, I absolutely agree with you. A wise man once said that health is the greatest wealth because so many times we human beings spend our whole lives and neglect our health as we are searching for wealth. Then we get to a point whereby we are using all that wealth we accrued to get back the health that we lost. I hope that this will be a wake up call to many of us out here. Good Job Sir!
