Cyber security has many different perspectives depending on a role in a business. It could be a cost, an investment, the bad guys, the saviors, and everything in between. Cyber security is really around protecting an organization's data, people, operations and assets which sounds easy on paper but is a very large task. A starting point is PEOPLE. People who make up a "cyber security department", people who build the products that are sold or used, people who make business decisions for the company, the list goes on. Every person is part of the "cyber defense" in an organization. Start with the people! Build awareness, education and most importantly - partnerships. Soft skills and relationship building play a crucial role in any aspect of life. This can be overlooked with cyber security and cyber defenses. Collaboration and partnerships to implement defenses, upgrades, training, risk mitigation and more is much easier when the business and technology partners are on board, understand the benefits and are able to work with security teams to enhance the business while protecting the business. This series will continue to expand lessons to build a Cyber security program that will be resilient, effective and dominant in our efforts collectively to defend from Cyber attacks across the globe. Stay tuned and share this if you got value. Thank you and have a great day!
