SmartLabel? is one of the most important initiatives the CPG industry has ever undertaken to build consumer trust via transparency. The ability for industry to voluntarily provide consumers access to more information than could ever fit on a label is being watched closely by Canadian consumers and Canadian Regulators. There are currently over 900 brands participating in the US, over 62,000 items with an expected 90,000 items by the end of next year. Canada is now joining in and getting started. One catalyst in the US has been the service provider infrastructure that enables scaled solutions.
