Building Confidence to Skyrocket Your Success: 3 Confidence Creating Hacks I Use Daily

It’s been a massive year already, and we’re not even halfway through. You have big goals and you’ve been leading and growing your business and team toward them. So far this year, I’ve had a baby, the STG team has grown to a team of 7!, we designed and launched a kick-ass professional growth program for a 350 people strong Tech Transformation Program and we are just getting started.?

The key to all of this isn’t just putting in the work, though that’s a big part of it. We all have massive freaking dreams, and if we’re going to smash our goals this year we need one thing above all else - The trust and Believe in ourselves that WE CAN - aka Confidence.?

The only problem?

We’re not born with confidence.

Confidence isn’t something we can own, or naturally have without earning it. It takes work, time, and care to build and maintain confidence in all aspects of life. Our confidence needs to be nurtured every single day. We need to invest time in it, look after it and do the right things to grow our confidence. If we don’t, it erodes.?

If we want to tackle those big scary goals, smash those glass ceilings, and grow our business 10X and beyond, confidence is paramount.

Think of your confidence as though it’s a sandcastle. That’s how fragile your confidence can be. One big wave or a ferocious gust of wind and it can be washed away. The good thing is that there is always more sand on the beach. You need to constantly protect and add to your sandcastle if you want it to stay strong.?

So, how do you protect and add to your confidence? Here are three techniques that I use regularly to build, rebuild, nurture, and grow my confidence and my believe in myself and my team - every single day.

3 Confidence Creating Hacks.

A Strong Morning Routine.?

Everything starts with how you begin your day. Before the mayhem and madness of your workday sets in, give yourself a strong morning routine. This allows you to begin your day on your terms and sets the tone for everything that follows.?

If you start your day in full control, you’ll build momentum and the confidence that comes from achieving.

This morning routine will be different for everyone. For me, it’s exercise. I get up at 6am and do the five exercises I’ve set out for myself. By 7am I have already completed something great for my mind and body, as well as fulfilled a promise to myself.?

There are so many things that can disrupt our day that we have no control over. This lack of control can erode our confidence and make us feel as though we have no agency. By having a morning routine we can build control and prove to ourselves that we can achieve anything we set our minds to.?

When you start your day by making things happen, that confidence stays with you.

Make A Plan.

Once you set yourself a goal or target, plan the heck out of it! Plan the year, plan the quarter, plan the week, plan the day.??

Whether you’re working towards a target or trying to solve a problem, a well laid out plan is your best friend. It allows you to structure your actions and create clarity in your mind. This cuts through the noise and organises your approach, giving you clear direction and making it much easier to see and measure your results.

If the plan is bringing you toward your goal or solution, perfect. If it’s taking you further away from your goal or solution, it’s time to re-think your plan, re-strategise, and move forward in a controlled way.?

Even if your plan doesn’t work out, this controlled and purposeful approach will give you better results than waking up with no plan and simply reacting rather than acting. The more you can add structure to your day, following steps that will lead you to success, the more relaxed and self-assured you will be, building your confidence.

Practice Jumping Out Of Your Comfort Zone.

Do something that completely takes you out of your comfort zone at least once every few months.?

For me, I jump. When I say jump, I literally mean jump. Jump out of a plane, bungee jump, cliff jump. It terrifies me, and that’s a good thing. I can face my fears in a controlled, safe environment. These radical acts give me an incredibly valuable thing. Perspective.

It shows me that, when I listen to experts, plan things out, trust my own judgement, and have the courage needed to take the first step, I can achieve amazing things. I can do things that I used to think of as impossible.

Whenever I feel overwhelmed, fearful, or don’t have the confidence to act decisively and go after what I want, jumping gives me the perspective I need. If I could make that jump even though I was so scared I couldn’t speak for three hours beforehand, I can do anything. The fear of a presentation or big business move pales in comparison.

Find whatever scares you shitless and face it in a controlled environment. It will give you the ultimate confidence boost you need to make your daily fears and worries seem like nothing.

Now of course, there are many, many more things we can do to build our confidence, but those are the three BIG things I love to do to nurture and grow my confidence.?

I hope in sharing these things it will help us all to be more confident leaders and in turn, skyrocket our success 10X and beyond!
