Building A Business on-the-go

Ever since I left my last corporate job at Wal-Mart Inc., I've never subscribed to the idea of being tied down to an office space. The moment I open up my laptop, I'm in my office.
What's amazing to me is the rate at which more and more people are becoming mobile entrepreneurs. 10 years ago this would never be possible but today, not only is it possible but also an accepted way to do business. So I thought it would be of value to some of the other entrepreneurs out there to know how we do it at Memcorp. Here are 3 things we do that allows us to do business on-the-go:
1. No Frills Mindset: Memcorp currently has its presence in 3 countries (India, Malaysia and Dubai) with hardly any logistical expense. Oh! Did I mention we have employees? We believe in a no frills business. What this means to us is to simply ask: do we need it? If the answer is "no" then that's what it is. If we don't need an office space and we can work from home then why not?
2. Mobility: Being able to work from anywhere is truly the core of our work-life. This to us isn’t just a cost cutting technique. It’s a lifestyle. It means we can have a team meeting at Starbucks or at our office and its effectiveness would be just the same. While the tech is one part of it, the larger part of it is the thought-process. Members of the team believe that they can be productive at anyplace.
3. Technology: We invest in technologies that will can allow us to empower productivity. It means if we can be more productive by skipping traffic and working from home then that’s what we need to do. Or if it means for us to subscribe to an online solution that will allow us to work collaboratively then it’s made available to everyone in the team.
These are some ways in which we're able to do business on the go. I'd be keen to hear what you do to do business on-the-go. Looking forward to your thoughts in the comments below..
