FOUNDATION OF HEALTHY COMPETITION

FOUNDATION OF HEALTHY COMPETITION

Most of us from childhood, associate success & failure with a relative yardstick. Our happiness & sadness quotients can instantly metamorphose with knowledge of how folks around us have performed vis-à-vis us. We need to be always better or less worse than our friends, classmates, & colleagues.

Years of this indoctrination has unfortunately made most of us professionals, resent the bigger laurels of anyone who is in our immediate success zone. We have hence, external & internal competitors: our colleagues and peers. Sometimes we subconsciously feel less sad if our deals go to competition instead of colleagues in other teams/ regions. In case of a collaborative team effort, we 1st clarify our revenue recognition before we choose to overtly or covertly help.

Let's take a step back and consider : this is a dynamic world with crests & troughs of wins & losses; our classmates, peers, colleagues are all good just as us. WE MUST END THE FEELINGS OF WISHING LESS FOR THEM, JEALOUSY & COMPARING ACHIEVEMENTS.

Great Leaders are impartial & make their organisation greater than the sum of their teams. In our journey to be great leaders, we must first acknowledge & genuinely feel happy for the success of our so-called internal competitors without measuring their achievement against ours. Then only we can encourage healthy competition, eliminate infighting & cannibalization of efforts within our team.

For encouraging HEALTHY COMPETITION we should :

1. CEASE COMPARISONS OF SUCCESS & resulting envy for self & team members

2. LEARN & IMBIBE from the success of our colleagues & competition

3. GROW THE INDUSTRY SPHERE as a whole, thus expanding success for everyone

Leaders who imbibe this true spirit of healthy competition will be impartial, eliminate team infighting & establish high performing symbiotic teams !

Hi.. Good read. Can we not do without competing each other as Flower does? No Flower compete they bloom on their own and keep blooming. God has created us to stand out and shine on our own. Sun and Moon shines but don't compete each other. God Bless
