Building Better Labor Systems and Advocating for Workers With our Partners

The National Employment Law Project Launches New Brand Embodying Racial Justice?

Founded in 1969, The National Employment Law Project (NELP) is a recognized leader building a just and inclusive economy where all workers have expansive rights and thrive with good jobs. Working with local, state, and national partners, NELP advances its mission through research, legal and policy solutions, coalitions and capacity building.

In 2016, NELP initiated a process to authentically become an anti-racist organization and more intentional in centering Black and immigrant workers in its goals and outcomes. 6 years later, with a new strategic plan and a newly elevated Executive Director laying out an inspiring vision, NELP engaged Constructive to lead a process to strengthen organizational alignment and navigate how a research-driven organization with a previously more "colorblind" approach would embody a brand who catalyzes policy action that builds worker power and centers on racial justice.

The resulting NELP brand expresses verbally and visually NELP's heightened commitments to fostering a racially and economically just job economy.? You can explore more about our partnership with NELP in the case study below.

The Frameworks Institute Launches WorkShift Project to Change Narratives Around Work and Labor

We're thrilled to announce that our partners at The Frameworks Institute have launched WorkShift, a multi-year research initiative changing the narratives surrounding work and labor.

In many ways our current systems of labor in The United States are exploitative and dehumanizing of the individual, with the power in the hands of some of the world's largest corporations. Many people want to see change at the systemic level, including workers and organizations supporting worker's rights and striking or unionizing. All systemic change starts with effective communications; and all effective communications start with intimately understanding the public's current thoughts and feelings. The Frameworks Institute has launched WorkShift to both document America's current feelings towards work—and to then develop tailored narrative frame recommendations from the research that organizations and individuals can use to open larger discussions surrounding our current work systems (and needed change).

We're so excited to continue to partner on this growing initiative with The Frameworks team, and you can explore the first WorkShift resources on current public thinking on labor in The United States below.

Constructive Awarded Two Communicator Awards for Digital Impact Report Work

We're so excited to share that we have been awarded two 2024 Communicator Awards for our previous work with partners on digital annual impact reports. We have received an Award of Distinction for our work on the 2022 Legal Aid Society Annual Report, as well as an Award of Excellence on St. David Foundation's 2022 Impact Report.

After years of partnership with New York's largest public interest law firm The Legal Aid Society, we worked with the Legal Aid team in 2022 to create a digital impact report that speaks to their impact and commitments, and tells the 2022 stories of their clients and sponsors. The resulting report is a dynamic digital experience with the option to download as a PDF. At the same time we set out to work on an impact report with St. David's Foundation, an equity-driven foundation pioneering health-equity and access efforts in Texas. We developed a digital impact report that speaks directly to their community on the year's highlights, their impact, and their commitments. The single page scroll report first introduces users to The St. David's Foundation then presents their work through engaging visuals and data visualizations, ending on a discussion of their commitments and an invitation to their community to engage with them.?

We're so thankful for our work to have been recognized by The Communicator Awards, and we're looking forward to continuing to create engaging digital reports for years to come.
