Building a better future by finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes
I've gotten to know Tulsa account manager Joe Vincent and his wife Danielle the last few months, ever since Joe was named the Hilti North America Legacy Cup honoree in January. Joe's almost two-decade long dedication to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) of Oklahoma is truly inspiring. Joe's fellow Hilti team members thought so too, and donated more than $45,000 this year, which was doubled by the company, all going to JDRF.
Like so many families, the Vincent's got the news that one of their children had Type 1 diabetes at a young age. That's when they joined the cause, not only for their daughter, but all the other people with the life-changing disease.
Last week I was honored to host a kick-off event with other Tulsa-area executives for the annual JDRF One Walk, which raises money to support life-changing breakthroughs that give hope to everyone impacted. One Walk is April 4 at 10 a.m. at Guthrie Green Park in Tulsa.
I invite you to join the "Hilti Legacy Walkers" team in our walk, or create your own team to walk with us. The website is below.
#OneWalkTulsa has one goal: to create a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D). T1D is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly. It has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle—and it's serious and stressful to manage. There is nothing you can do to prevent T1D and there is currently no cure. However, this is something you and your business can do to help.
Please register to walk with us. We can't do it without you.
