Building Analytical Capacity

Insights from the 2024 IACA Conference

The 2024 International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA) Conference, held in Las Vegas this September, provided an opportunity for the LexisNexis? Risk Solutions Public Safety Team to spend time discussing current trends and needs with crime and intelligence analysts from across the country.? For our team, this is an annual must attend event to hear firsthand what current problems agencies are combatting, learn what technology gaps exist and identify how we can help.

The International Association of Crime Analysts Conference is always a great way for our team to learn more about our customers and what our products should be doing and how they are fitting into an agency’s workflow. ?At the end of the day, we all have the same mission and that is to put the bad guys away while keeping law enforcement safe.?Spending this time with colleagues, customers and law enforcement professionals helps us continue our part in that mission.?Brittney Hunt, Crime Analyst (ret.), LexisNexis Risk Solutions Lead Public Safety Product Manager

Analysts Know What Tools Are Needed

If you think your crime analyst is unaware of what new technology can benefit your entire agency, think again.? Throughout the IACA Conference, multiple sessions focused on new, emerging ways to use data and technology in law enforcement.? Topics included the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Device Geolocation Analysis, Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) Tools, and more. Analysts can take information from IACA back to their agency to aid with making informed decisions on what technology fits their agency’s needs.?

Analysts work with multiple different divisions in a law enforcement agency and often the first individuals in an agency to identify a technology gap.? Our LexisNexis Risk Solutions Public Safety Team loves networking and speaking with this group of law enforcement professionals year after year during IACA as they help us focus on what features and functionality is most important in the day-to-day workflow for an agency as we work tirelessly to evolve our solutions to meet their needs.? They return to our booth each year to discuss our product enhancements and learn what new things are on the horizon. ~Lauren Norman, Crime Analyst (ret.), LexisNexis Risk Solutions Public Safety Marketing Lead

We recognize that the role of the analyst is evolving in the field of law enforcement and analysts are no longer just cleaning data.? They are vital to the daily operations of many agencies across the country and LexisNexis Risk Solutions is proud to be a provider of solutions to streamline their workflow.

We have been focused on introducing new features to help analysts and investigators work more efficiently.? The Better Together presentation focused on how the connected partners we recently introduced into the Accurint Public Safety Marketplace can assist with building a more robust analytical capacity within an agency.? Session attendees saw firsthand how this new offering can aid in OSINT Investigations, eliminate the need to locate information manually in disparate databases and more. If you missed out on this session during IACA, don’t worry; you can learn more about the Marketplace and request a custom demo on our website.
