How can we build an AI-enhanced, people centric culture?
My aim this week, keeping inline with our AI theme, I want us to investigate how we can nurture an environment that welcomes innovation while also placing a premium tag on personal interaction.
In organizations where leaders prioritize both efficiency and empathy, AI is used to enhance human potential rather than replacing it. In my professional opinion, this is the best option; agree?
Imaginative Forecast:
I thoroughly enjoy any activity that requires imagination, could you just imagine a company where AI handles routine tasks, freeing employees for creative problem-solving, relationship-building, and strategic brainstorming?
How does that resonate with YOU as a leader?
Practical Takeaways
AI Coaching Sessions (Bi-weekly or Monthly)
Host "mini-training" sessions where employees share some of the best practices for blending data insights along with gut feelings.
Why Does It Matter?
1 | Skill Development:
I think its important to remember that as AI becomes more prevalent, employees will require ongoing support to help them interpret data effectively. Offering these coaching sessions help them understand how to integrate quantitative insights with intuitive judgment, rather than relying exclusively on one or the other.
2 | Team Building:
From first-hand experience, I can assure you that when team members openly discuss both data-driven logic and gut-level instinct, you will begin to foster a collaborative mindset that values diverse perspectives; this is a huge key to success. This is particularly powerful in cross-functional teams where everyone has different experiences and comfort levels with AI tools.
How Do We Implement?
1 | Short, Focused Workshops:
I would that that instead of hosting day-long seminars, opt for 30-to-60-minute mini-training sessions. During each session, we focus and target a single question or skill (e.g., “Using AI dashboards to predict market demand” or “Spotting when intuition should override data”). These mini training sessions are great bi-weekly or monthly as to not overwhelm the team members.
2 | Peer Sharing:
I encourage team leaders who have employees that have successfully combined AI insights with their instincts, to lead segments of these mini sessions. As human beings, we seem to resonate more with real-life examples than theoretical concepts and it ultimately empowers those who’ve excelled to mentor others around them.
3 | Hands-On Exercises:
A great exercise is to use some simple case studies (or simulations) where team members practice looking at data, then pausing to ask, “What does my gut say?” This tangible exercise helps people recognize when intuition is adding valuable insight.
What Could Be Some Potential Pitfalls & Tips?
A major pitfall could be the over-emphasis on tech. It is important to ensure the sessions also address soft skills, like empathy and situational awareness, so it’s not solely about mastering AI tools and overwhelming people.
The other pitfall could be the fear of judgement as some employees may worry they lack the “perfect” balance between data analysis and intuition. Its important not to aim for perfect rather, normalize experimentation. Any great leader knows that mistakes often lead to the most powerful insights.
Why It Works
Through the application of AI coaching that places an emphasis on combining data and instinct, you can assist your workforce in becoming agile problem-solvers who are confident in utilizing both analytical evidence and their own experience-based hunches.
Open Dialogue
It is always my advise that leaders encourage feedback loops that highlight emotional well-being alongside AI adoption metrics. This is something done daily.
Why Does It Matter?
1 | Human-Centric Culture:
Yes, AI can streamline many processes, but it can also make employees feel sidelined if they believe technology is replacing their expertise or creativity. As we aim to avoid this, having open dialogue channels ensures that emotional well-being stays front and center in your AI journey.
2 | Early Detection of Issues:
Any great leader will tell you that proactive listening is vital in and in this case, proactive listening can reveal underlying anxieties (or frustrations) before they become crises. We all aim to avoid those right? If employees feel safe sharing concerns about the pace of AI adoption, potential role changes, or workload, leadership can address issues promptly and effectively.
How Should You Implement?
1 | Regular Check-Ins:
Integrate short feedback sessions (even 10-minute discussions) into team meetings, specifically asking how people feel about AI changes. Over time, this normalizes voicing emotional responses.
2 | Anonymous Channels:
This is one of my favorite systems to put in place and some employees may be uncomfortable expressing worries in front of peers or managers; this is an opportunity for us to avoid that. Provide an anonymous suggestion box or digital survey and commit to reading and responding to valid concerns.
3 | Empathy KPIs:
Consider measuring “emotional well-being” as a leadership metric. Emotional well-being can include employee satisfaction scores, turnover rates or even the ratio of positive vs. negative feedback in your AI rollout context.

What Could Be Some Potential Pitfalls & Tips?
1 | Performative Listening:
As a leader, please avoid soliciting feedback without having any intent to follow up. I have seen this too many times and can assure you that if employees see no action taken on their deep and valid concerns, trust erodes quickly. Trust is a major key in successful teams.
2 | Info Overload:
If you collect feedback too frequently without summarizing or acting on it, people can experience survey fatigue. Balance regular feedback with visible action and updates.
Why It Works
When a leader starts to treat emotional well-being just as seriously as productivity (if not more), you demonstrate that AI is a tool for people, it is not an impersonal force taking over. This holistic approach underpins a resilient and forward-seeking culture that most companies aim for.
Tying This All Together
Both AI Coaching Sessions and Open Dialogue act as complementary strategies to ensure your AI adoption is both effective and empathetic. If you can establish a system that regularly trains your team to balance data insights with intuition, you inevitably empower them to make confident decisions. Furthermore, when we open up direct, honest feedback loops, you then create a workplace that values emotional intelligence as much as technical skill. This is 2025, AI is still a baby and emotional intelligence is key to any successful company, we can integrate both in a powerful way so that we are ahead of the competition.
What is the end result? Well, ultimately, it is a culture where AI amplifies human potential, rather than overshadowing it, this will help your organization thrive in a future driven by both technology and humanity.
Choose Your Own Adventure Scenario
Well, I decided to try this exercise again after feedback, it is meant to help you fine tune your intuition, even super charge it! Why not?!
In this exercise?you will read the scenario below, then click which path you choose; follow?your first strong pull. The link you click on (PATH A or PATH B) will take you to an article where we will dive deeper into that path.?
SCENARIO:
A new AI-driven process looks great on paper, but your gut says some people might feel excluded or undervalued.
Path A: Follow the Metrics
Path B: Pause & Listen
Click your chosen path to uncover deeper insights.
Ask yourself: What deeper concern is your intuition highlighting?
Conclusion: Two Paths, One Goal
Whether you Follow the Metrics or Pause & Listen, the overarching goal is the same:
integrate AI without sacrificing the human element.
If you choose to prioritize data, remember to keep listening for subtle cues of frustration or alienation.
If you slow down to gather feedback, stay mindful of the bigger picture and maintain clarity on your performance objectives.
Ultimately, each path can lead to a thriving, tech-savvy workplace, provided you remain in tune with both employee well-being and organizational goals.
Leadership Mini-Journal Prompt
This weeks prompt is:
“Reflect on a recent moment when technology rolled out in your company. Did you sense unvoiced concerns? How did you handle them, or how might you handle them next time?”
Jot down a quick response. This helps you refine your empathetic listening skills in future rollouts.
My Final Thoughts
In my next issue, I want to shift focus from AI to a new frontier which is sustainability & intuitive strategy, keep an eye out for it.
2025 is all about impact and community for me, if you found value in this newsletter, if it lead you to think outside the box, please share it out to 3-5 people for impact.
Thank you!

1 个月Personally, society needs to be conscious of technology's advancements, particularly AI. Sure, it gots its benefits, but also its consequences. Humanity is not keeping up; one will think, with so much power, knowledge, and information in the palm of our hands on a daily basis, yet, society is becoming less capable, more tame, less risk taker, more fearful, and more controlable. Watch Wall-E, The Matrix, Ready Player One, Elysium, The Giver, I Robot, Terminator, we got plenty of examples that clearly show what society will become if WE THE PEOPLE don't wake up!!!! Thank you Dr. Tara, great message.
