Building an ABC Culture | Digging In

What About Your Culture?

What does the culture around you look like?

This is a question for you to ponder. We all contribute to the dynamics of our surroundings… the culture that is always actively being created. Whether we are talking about our home, work, or community involvement, we all get to choose how we impact others. We have a unique opportunity to influence those we lead by the relationships we foster.

In this episode of Digging In, we dive into this concept as we hear from Kimberly Allfrey, our Clinical Director of our counseling division, in our Huntsville location. She will demonstrate to us her insight into how she has created and continues to create a strong culture.

We believe that there is a recipe for a good culture. It is when our actions and our beliefs align in a way that supports the people we lead. This is leading above the line first, in order to develop and further our relationships.

Here are some thoughts for you as you lead…

What is our purpose as a team, a family, a community or an organization? Together we are working toward accomplishing something that is bigger than ourselves. Something we really can’t do on our own.

What value do we provide? There is value as a group, to each other, the organization, our family in the role we play.

What are our habits? Our rhythms and patterns of operating set a tone for those we engage. ?

What does success look like? It is important to have a vision for what it looks like if we are going to hit the mark.

What are our priorities? Having clarity on what we are all working towards to reach that something larger than ourselves. In a family, it might be how do we all contribute to a peaceful environment, an open conversation, or meaningful moments.

The truth is we get to choose our actions and beliefs to create the culture we desire. Be aware of this choice so you consciously choose every day.

I challenge you to intentionally spend the energy to impact the culture around you.
