Build Your Website Without Losing Your Sanity (or Your Wallet)

Build Your Website Without Losing Your Sanity (or Your Wallet)

You’ve validated your idea. You’ve built your one-page business plan. Fuck yes, you’re killing it!

Now, it’s time to bring your business to life. Today, we’re building your website—your digital home base, online storefront, and 24/7 sales machine.

Don’t worry if you’ve never built one before—this is going to be stupidly simple and, as always, FREE.

Why You Need a Website (Yes, Even in 2025)

I get it, social media is powerful. TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn… people are making money without a website, right?

But here’s the truth:

  • Your social media audience is borrowed—your email list is owned. One algorithm change can wipe out your reach, but an engaged email list keeps you in control.
  • A website builds credibility—even if it’s just a simple one-pager, it makes you look legit.
  • It’s your sales machine—people can discover, learn about, and buy from you while you sleep.

And the best part? You don’t need coding skills, a design degree, or a huge budget.

We’re using Carrd, a free, no-nonsense website builder that makes this process easy as hell.

Let’s get this bad boy live, shall we?

What You’ll Achieve Today

?? A clean, professional website where people can learn about you.

?? A homepage that clearly communicates what you do.

?? A functional email capture form to start building your audience.

?? A home base for your future sales, content, and growth.

Step 1: Outline the Key Pages

We’re keeping it simple and effective—you DO NOT need a 15-page website.

To start, just build these 4 essential pages:

1?? Homepage (Your First Impression)

Your homepage is your hook—make it count.

Headline: Make it clear and bold. Who do you help, and how?

Example: “Helping Busy Professionals Get Fit with Short, High-Impact Workouts.”

Subheading: Why should they care?

Example: “Customized workout and nutrition plans designed to fit even the busiest schedules. No fluff, just results.”

Call to Action (CTA): What should they do next? Subscribe? Book a call?

Example: “Download your FREE 10-minute workout guide and start crushing your fitness goals today!”

Pro Tip: Keep it minimal. One high-quality image, a strong headline, and a clear CTA.

2?? About Page (Tell Your Story, But Keep It Snappy)

This is where you build trust and connect with your audience.

Suggested structure:

1?? Introduction: Who are you, and what’s your mission?

2?? Your Background: What inspired your business? What problems are you solving?

3?? Why You’re Different: What sets you apart?

4?? Call to Action: Invite visitors to sign up for emails, follow you on socials, or book a call.

Pro Tip: Keep it human—ditch the corporate-speak. People connect with people, not businesses.

3?? Services/Products Page (Show What You Offer)

This page is where the magic happens, whether you sell digital products, offer coaching, or run an agency.

  • Headline: What’s the main transformation you provide?
  • Service/Product Overview: Short descriptions of what you offer.
  • Benefits List: Bullet points work best—highlight how it helps your audience.
  • Call to Action: “Book Now,” “Buy Now,” or “Learn More.”

Pro Tip: This page should feel like a solution to your audience’s problems. Less about you, more about them.

4?? Contact Page (Make It Easy to Reach You)

Your website isn’t a ghost town—make sure people can actually contact you.

  • Short intro: “Let’s connect” or “I’d love to hear from you.”
  • Contact form: Email + message fields.
  • Other ways to reach you: Social media, Calendly, WhatsApp (if relevant).

Pro Tip: Use Carrd’s built-in form elements, no need for fancy plugins.

Step 2: Set Up Your Email Capture (This Is Key)

If you’re serious about building a business, not just a website, you NEED an email list.

Here’s how to capture emails from Day 1:

?? Step 1: Add an Email Sign-Up Form to your homepage.

Example: “Enter your email to get exclusive business-building tips + free resources.”

?? Step 2: Integrate it with MailerLite to collect subscribers.

?? Step 3: Automate a welcome email to go out instantly.

Pro Tip: Offer a freebie (lead magnet) to get people to sign up e.g., a free checklist, eBook, or mini-course.

Step 3: Test Before You Launch

Before you hit publish, make sure your website actually works:

?? Is your homepage clear and simple?

?? Is your email sign-up form easy to use?

?? Are all your links working?

?? Does it look good on mobile? (Over 50% of visitors will check your site on their phones—don’t ignore this.)

Pro Tip: Test your site on different devices before launching. If it looks weird on mobile, fix it NOW.

What’s Next?

Next, we’re tackling content creation—specifically, how to write website and social media content that actually sells.

Your website is your foundation. Your content is what makes people stay.

Get ready for some serious copywriting gold.
