Starting from the vision we're building at
Growth Wiser
to enable our partners to grow revenue and margins, I believe one of the key aspects in having sustainable growth is building up your TRIBE / COMMUNITY, as Seth Godin wrote in his book, Tribes, "A group needs only two things to be a tribe: a shared interest and a way to communicate".
So I believe in today's world, building a community is more important than ever. A community provides a sense of belonging, support, and purpose. It also helps businesses, organizations, and individuals to achieve sustainable growth. However, building a community is not easy. It requires effort, dedication, and a clear strategy. In this article, we will explore some tips on how to build communities for sustainable growth.
- Identify your audience: The first step in building a community is to identify your audience. Who are the people that you want to connect with? What are their interests, needs, and pain points? By understanding your audience, you can create content and activities that resonate with them. You can also tailor your communication style and messaging to their preferences.
- Define your purpose: A community needs a clear purpose to thrive. Why do you want to build this community? What are your goals and objectives? Is it to educate, inspire, entertain, or connect people? Having a clear purpose will help you stay focused and attract the right people.
- Choose the right platform: There are many platforms available for building communities, such as social media, forums, blogs, and events. You need to choose the right platforms that fits your audience and purpose. For example, if your audience is mostly visual, Instagram may be a better platform than Twitter, but int today's world I totally recommend to use multiple channel strategy.
- Create valuable content: Content is the backbone of any community. You need to create content that adds value to your audience. It can be in the form of articles, videos, podcasts, infographics, or webinars. The content should be informative, engaging, and shareable. Like I'm doing here. Haha.
- Engage with your audience: Building a community is not a one-way street. You need to engage with your audience and build relationships with them. You can do this by responding to their comments, asking for their feedback, and encouraging them to share their stories and experiences.
- Foster a sense of belonging: A community needs to feel like a home. You need to create an environment where people feel welcome, valued, and supported. You can do this by acknowledging their contributions, celebrating their successes, and providing opportunities for them to connect with each other.
- Measure your success: To achieve sustainable growth, you need to measure your success. You can do this by tracking your engagement metrics, such as likes, comments, shares, and clicks. You can also conduct surveys or interviews to get feedback from your audience. Use this data to improve your content and activities.
In conclusion, building a community with purpose, builds also sustainable growth. But it requires time, effort, and dedication. You need to understand your audience, define your purpose, choose the right platforms, create valuable content, engage with your audience, foster a sense of belonging, and measure your success. By following these tips, you can build a community that provides value to your audience and supports your growth.
