“For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison” (2 Corinthians 4:17)
- Daily Brick: Of a truth, some days can be really dark, gloomy, tough, rough and depressing. Those days when going to bed seems as an escape from reality rather than rest. Those days when all you do seem not to work out, delays upon delays, rejections upon rejections, let’s just stop here. I know you understand the point I am trying to make.
- What is so intriguing about these moments in our lives is that we may not understand why this is happening to us. We can see everyone else achieving their goals and living their best lives and we are thrown into an ocean of anxiety, despondence and even bouts of depression. We try really hard to be happy yet sadness hovers around us. We try really hard to make moves out of these cloudy times yet nothing seems to change.
- Christ Jesus, the saviour of the whole world made it clear that in this world, we would have tribulations and even very rough times but we should be of good cheer because He has overcome this world and He lives in us through it all. Dear friend, do not throw in the towel just yet. Keep planting and when the rain of harvest falls, every stress would be forgotten. More than earthly blessings, we are encouraged to set our eyes on the invisible glory which is not transient like the material blessings of life. God is preparing us and shaping us through tough times so that our character would be without blemish. God is more interested in who you are than what you have. More so, God designed us to prosper in all things while here on earth so we must keep the vision of the very best in life. Do not try to rush out of the process rather observe, reflect and draw out lessons from whatever it is you may be going through so that you grow through it.?
- Your commitment today: Take a moment and reflect, observe and draw out lessons from what you may be going through or have been through in the past. With gratitude, recognize the blessings you already have now.
