?? Build Bridges, Not Walls: Navigating the Professional Landscape with Respect ??

Dear Job Seekers,

In the world of recruitment, communication is key, and transparency paves the way for mutual understanding. As recruiters, our goal is to connect the right candidates with the right opportunities, ensuring a perfect match for both parties involved.

Recently, we've encountered instances where candidates, perhaps feeling disheartened by direct feedback, chose to sever their LinkedIn connections. While we understand that job hunting can be a challenging journey, it's crucial to appreciate the importance of maintaining a professional and respectful approach throughout the process.

Here are a few reasons why cutting ties with recruiters on professional platforms might not be the best strategy:

?? Why Build Bridges?

1?? Feedback is a Stepping Stone, Not a Barrier: When you receive feedback, especially constructive criticism, view it as a stepping stone towards your goals. Blocking or disconnecting on LinkedIn may provide a momentary escape, but it also closes the door on valuable insights that could guide you towards the right opportunities.

2?? Networks Flourish Through Collaboration: Networking is about collaboration, shared experiences, and mutual growth. By blocking connections, you may unintentionally limit your chances of tapping into valuable resources, mentorship, or even your next job opportunity.

3?? Recruiters are Allies, Not Adversaries: Companies hire recruitment agencies and recruiters to find the perfect fit for their teams. Recognize that we are your allies, here to guide and support you based on your qualifications and experiences. Blocking us inhibits effective communication, hindering our ability to assist you on your journey.

?? Building Bridges, Not Walls: A Collective Effort

Let's make a collective effort to foster an environment where bridges are built, connections are valued, and professional relationships flourish. In a world where opportunities can arise unexpectedly, keeping those bridges intact ensures you're ready to navigate the diverse landscape of the professional world.

Remember, each interaction is an opportunity to learn, grow, and forge meaningful connections. Let's build bridges that lead to success, one professional connection at a time.

Great article Robin from the recruiter perspective. But to also factor in the other side of the table, many recruiting agencies/corporate recruiters continue to ghost you, do not provide feedback on your application and some simply start behaving differently incase you do not clear interviews. Some do not bother to even send automated rejection mails to the applications they solicit from job seekers. Also, there are too many recruiters who collect resumes using automated systems, only to tell their clients how large their database is, without ever making the effort of forging connections with candidates—and often, without even reading your resume. We must keep in mind that more or less it is the same talent pool on Linkedin every recruiter is reaching out to again and again. If the experience is negative or communication is akin to an iron wall, soon candidates will start ignoring their job posts. Candidates generally do not block a recruiter without reason as there is no smoke without fire!
