Build awareness by reflecting daily!
If you're a leader of people, then you'll obviously realise by now that you must learn to lead yourself well, before you have any hope of leading others.
Leading yourself well means that you must be maintaining awareness of yourself and seeking clarity is how we do that.
Maintaining awareness doesn't mean we just have awareness or we have clarity, it means you must be asking yourself questions every single day to maintain that awareness, how do we stay aware of ourselves if we're not asking ourselves the right questions?
One of the ways to do this is to develop the habit of reflecting daily.
This is rule number nine of my productivity infrastructure for effective leadership?- reflect daily.
So how do you do that?
You simply ask yourself a number of questions at the end of each.?
Ask yourself now, can you think about a relationship or more that you really invested in today that you really enjoyed and you brought some good charge to.
That will give you immediate awareness about that day.?
Did you learn that your focus wasn't good enough today?
Did you learn that your discipline wasn't quite where you wanted to be?
Did you learn that your energy is lowering and that's affecting your ability to lead yourself and then lead others?
That's another question you could ask yourself every day so that you're not taking the stressors into your sleep and into the next day.
To maintain self-awareness, which is a critical skill for leadership, we must be asking ourselves questions every day.
And to do that, we must develop the habit of reflecting daily.?
