Buffalos in KY, MGP in KY, The A,B,C,D,E,F & Gs of Bourbon...

That stabbing feeling in the back, right? The Ides of March.

There are bourbon lovers and then there are those who have come to love this bourbon 'thing'. The latter group chase bottles, pay way above suggested retail(whatever the hell that is) and drink with an extended pinky - they drop thousands for an inventory that rivals circa 1970 liquor stores.

Well, the industry is going to change - big time - and I'm not sure who will benefit the most. Probably bourbon drinkers in Beijing.

But this week, we stay here in the US.

I've taught the 'ABCs' of bourbon, but there are more letters in the alphabet. Check out the next four.

I know what a 'trace' is because of bourbon. BTW, Eagle Rage is 10 year old BTrace.

This being the U.S., we litigate everything; especially our booze. Get ready for many more court appearances, category definitions and perhaps a change in the 'three tier' system.

Go enjoy a dram or two, stay off Bourbon Tik Tok, and for the love of God, don't extend that damn pinky!

5 Things You Didn’t Know About Buffalo Trace

I knew stuff.

Most importantly, Eagle Rare is B Trace aged for ten years and a 'trace' is the path left behind by migrating wildlife. Which means buffalo's roamed the hills of Kentucky. Wow.

MGP Sues Two Kentucky Communities

It's complicated.

MGP is huge and out of Kansas, money is green and the fungus is black.

The KY legislature voted to sunset a tax law and everything came undone.

Those costs include the black mold-like "whiskey fungus" that continually appears on nearby properties, maintenance of rural roads and fire protection capable of containing blazes in four-story buildings full of flammable wood and liquid.

Here.
