- No changes to the rates of CGT on UK residential property disposals, gains will remain taxable at 18% in the basic rate band and 24% above this.
- Sales of commercial property on or after 30th October 2024 will now also be at these rates (which replace the previous 10% and 20% lower and main rates of CGT).
- Future acquisitions will suffer a 5% SDLT surcharge (an increase of 2% on the previous surcharge), for purchases made on or after 31st October 2024, assuming the landlord already owns another property.
- No changes to the Income Tax rates on rental profits.
- The rates and thresholds of Income Tax will remain frozen until April 2028, when they will rise in line with inflation.
