Budget Speech 2024 : Urgent Support Needed for Early Childhood Development Centres in Marginalised Communities

Following the 2024/25 budget speech, Ntataise expresses deep concern over the challenges faced by Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centres, particularly those serving rural communities. "We are witnessing first-hand the increasing struggle of ECD centres?to survive, especially in rural areas," said Puleng.? “The dedicated individuals tirelessly providing ECD services in these marginalised communities deserve recognition for their invaluable contribution to our nation's future."

Puleng adds, "We stand in solidarity with Ilifa Labantwana and other organisations advocating for improved support for ECD initiatives. It's imperative that the South African Government recognises the vital importance of these centres and allocates adequate resources to ensure their sustainability."
