Budget reduction puts venues at risk, Cardiff’s huge new gig series, AAA Awards finalists ???

Following Rachel Reeves unveiling of the first Labour Party budget for nearly 15 years, representatives from the live music industry have said the Government’s planned reduction in business rates relief for grassroots venues will put many in a perilous situation.

On a more positive note, AEG Presents is planning a new mid-size venue in Victoria Park, London, and Live Nation is working on a new 35,000-capcity outdoor show series in Cardiff. We also reveal the finalists for the AAA Awards, which will take place at Indigo at The O2 on 5 December.

In other news, private equity giant CVC takes a stake in Superstruct, YolanDa Brown is named Independent Venue Week artist ambassador and the National Arenas Association published the Green Guide.


?? Budget reduction in business rates relief puts venues at risk

Representatives from across the live music industry have aired frustration in response to Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ announcement today, in the Autumn Budget, that the 75% business rate relief for grassroots music venues will be cut to 40% from 1 April, 2025.
