Budget control document filtering in D365FO

If you want to be warned or stopped by actual postings when there is not enough available budget, you can use budget control in D365FO. This system will check all actuals and reservations related to the budget. In the budget control configuration you can setup where and how you want to use this budget control. With the feature 'Budget control document filtering enhancement' you can now also make filters inside document selections:
I show you based on an example.
After enabling the feature, in the budget control configuration an extra filter part is added in the 'Documents and journals' section. In my case I select the line for daily journals and select the 'Add/edit filtering' option:
Now I add the filter that for all Daily journals the budget control must work, except journal name 'GenJrn':
After activating the change in the budget control configuration (don't forget this step), I create two new journals:
When I enter the line in journal name TrvExp and validate the journal, I get a message that my amount (USD 15.000) exceeds the available budget:
If I enter the same line in the journal name GenJrn and validate this journal, I don't get an error:
Even if this line will exceed the same amount based on budget vs. actual as in the TrvExp journal, the Budget check is not performed based on the fact that I filtered out this journal name GenJrn in the budget control configuration.
I delete the filter in the budget control configuration and activate this change. After that I validate the same Daily journal from name 'GenJrn' that I created earlier and where I didn't get an error message after checking the budget control (based on my filter in budget control configuration). Now without that filter, I get the same error just as by the journal name TrvExp:
So the feature makes it possible to specify the Document and Journals part even more when it comes to budget control. You can not only filter what kind of documents and journals you want to use in budget control, but also filter inside this selection to specify this.

2 年Thank you Hylke :). I tried this new feature, but in the Budget control configuration I cannot apply filtering for the Daily Journals. The button add/edit filter is not active. Is there any setup to be done in order to active the filtering for this type of Document? Thank you
